Sindh Police To Relaunch E Challan System On October 27

The Karachi Traffic Police has issued a public warning about fake e-challan SMS messages being circulated under its name, calling them fraudulent and misleading. Citizens have been urged to stay alert and avoid sharing personal information or making any payments based on such messages.

The alert comes after multiple complaints from residents who received bogus traffic fine notifications via text messages, falsely claiming to be from the official e-challan system. The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Traffic, Pir Muhammad Shah, clarified that no official e-challans are currently sent through SMS.

In his statement, DIG Shah said,

“People should ignore any messages claiming to be official e-challans. Karachi Traffic Police has not started issuing challans via SMS.”

He also advised citizens to verify any traffic fines only through official platforms to prevent falling prey to online scams.

New Digital Initiative

Meanwhile, the Karachi Traffic Police has launched a new mobile application titled “Tracks Citizen” to simplify access to traffic fine records. The app allows motorists to track vehicles, view e-challans, and monitor violations linked to their CNIC. Once logged in, all registered vehicles appear automatically on the user’s dashboard.

According to officials, this initiative is part of the city’s digital traffic management reform, designed to make fine tracking and payments more transparent and accessible.
