Adb Board Approves Loan For Pakistan Despite Indian Outcry

The Asian Development Bank has outlined a development project pipeline worth around two billion dollars for Sindh, focusing on education, health, transport, housing, skills development, and coastal resilience, reflecting renewed momentum in the province’s long-term growth agenda.

The proposed investment plan was discussed during a meeting between ADB Country Director Emma Fan and Sindh Minister for Planning and Development Jam Khan Shoro. Senior officials from ADB and national public-private partnership experts were also present, underscoring the strategic importance of the initiative for Sindh’s development framework.

According to officials, the pipeline includes key projects such as secondary education reforms, strengthening the nursing workforce, sustainable transport solutions, skills enhancement programs, housing initiatives, and measures to improve coastal resilience. These projects aim to address both social development gaps and climate-related challenges faced by the province.

Minister Jam Khan Shoro welcomed ADB’s continued support and stressed the need to complete preparatory work without delays to ensure smooth implementation. He said development efforts must go beyond infrastructure and focus on measurable outcomes, skills development, and the creation of high-value human capital to support sustainable economic growth.
