Samsung may soon redefine mobile connectivity with its latest Exynos modem technology. Leaks suggest the Galaxy Z Flip8 and possibly the Galaxy S26 series could feature the new Exynos 2600 chip. This processor is the first from Samsung built on a 2nm process, promising improved performance and efficiency.
At its launch, Samsung remained quiet about the Exynos 2600’s modem. New details now point to the Exynos Modem 5410, which may be part of the 2600 package. The modem combines LTE DTC, NB IoT NTN, and NR NTN on a single chip, offering versatile connectivity options.
NB IoT NTN, or NarrowBand Internet of Things Non-Terrestrial Networks, focuses on low-data tasks like location updates or text messages. It works reliably even in remote areas, including oceans and deserts, and is certified by Skylo. LTE DTC, or Long Term Evolution Direct to Cell, adds advanced satellite communication, including voice support. NR NTN, or New Radio Non-Terrestrial Networks, delivers higher throughput, enabling potential satellite video calls in the future.
Although Samsung has not confirmed the Exynos Modem 5410 for the Galaxy S26, it ranks among the company’s most premium modems. Built using a 4nm EUV process, it supports 5G NR dual connectivity across FR1 sub-6GHz and FR2 mmWave. The modem achieves peak download speeds of up to 14.79Gbps and follows the 3GPP Release 17 standard.
If Samsung introduces advanced satellite features in the Galaxy S26 series, the Exynos Modem 5410 will likely be central to that technology. Early indications suggest it could set a new benchmark for mobile satellite communication.
