A mobile app glitch just turned into a massive legal headache for a private telecom operator in Pakistan. Today, February 19, 2026, the local court in Karachi officially issued a notice demanding a formal response from the network provider. A citizen, Talha Korai, has filed a massive Rs. 2 million lawsuit against the mobile SIM company over a failed package activation. The specific telecommunication company’s name has not been confirmed yet.
The Mobile App Glitch That Cost a Client
The dispute started over a standard weekly subscription. Korai used the telecom company’s official mobile application to activate a weekly plan. The app successfully deducted Rs. 823 from his digital account. However, the company never activated the package.
Consequently, Korai lost all network connectivity. Because he could not communicate, he lost a direct client and the associated professional fee. He argues that this failure completely shattered his trust in the provider. Furthermore, he claims this incident raises serious questions regarding the overall security and reliability of digital accounts in the country.
Ignored Warnings & Legal Action
Before going to court, Korai tried to resolve the issue directly. First, he visited the telecom company’s regional office. They failed to resolve the problem. Next, he served the company with a formal legal notice. The company completely ignored it.
Now, Korai is hitting back. In his petition, he is demanding Rs. 2 million in total damages for his financial loss. Additionally, he requested the court to force the telecom operator to provide him with complimentary package facilities for the next six months.
The court has taken up the matter, and the telecom company must submit its defence regarding the digital failure.
