A United States Air Force F‑15E Strike Eagle fighter jet crashed in western Kuwait on March 2, 2026, amid ongoing military operations in the Middle East. The pilot safely exited moments before the aircraft hit the ground and suffered minor injuries. Authorities confirmed there were no other casualties.
The incident occurred during a period of peak tensions in the region, following recent US and Israeli operations targeting Iranian assets.
Videos shared on social media show the jet descending rapidly and smoke rising from the crash site, with local residents assisting the pilot before he was taken for medical attention.

Kuwait’s Defense Ministry reported that “several” U.S. warplanes crashed in Kuwait. All the pilots and aircrews survived and safely ejected before the aircraft went down. They were taken to hospital and are in stable condition.
The ministry did not immediately say what caused the crashes, and there has been no official detailed explanation yet from U.S. Central Command.
Kuwaiti authorities also highlighted recent drone activity near Kuwait International Airport, which has temporarily disrupted local airspace.
The F‑15E Strike Eagle is a long-range, dual-role fighter designed for both air-to-air combat and air-to-ground missions. It has been a key component of the US Air Force’s operations in the Middle East for decades. Despite the crash, the aircraft’s robust safety systems allowed the pilot to escape safely, preventing any fatalities on the ground.
