The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested 26 employees of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) for allegedly holding fake academic degrees used to secure government positions.
According to officials, more than 100 CDA employees are suspected of possessing bogus degrees while occupying key posts within the authority’s administrative and operational departments.
Investigators revealed that some of the 103 identified individuals were serving officers within the authority, raising concerns about oversight failures and recruitment irregularities.
In December last year, the FIA’s Anti-Corruption Circle registered cases against 58 CDA employees for allegedly obtaining government jobs using falsified educational and professional documents.
These documents included fake degrees, forged certificates and fabricated experience letters, marking one of the largest anti-corruption actions ever launched against CDA personnel.
The FIA report stated that the accused were hired in violation of merit and quota regulations, resulting in financial losses as salaries and benefits were paid on fraudulent credentials.
Among those named are thirteen security guards, eleven drivers and seven tube well operators, according to the official list released by investigators.
Authorities also identified several naib qasids, clerks and technicians who allegedly entered public service using forged academic and employment records.
