Early benchmark results have started to reveal how the new Apple iPhone 17e performs. The device recently appeared in the Geekbench 6 database, giving an early look at the performance of its Apple A19 chip.
The numbers suggest the phone delivers strong CPU performance. In early tests, the iPhone 17e recorded a multi-core score of 9,241. That result is almost identical to the standard Apple iPhone 17, which posts an average multi-core score of 9,249 with the same A19 processor.
However, there is a small difference in graphics hardware. The iPhone 17e uses a 4-core GPU, while the iPhone 17 includes a 5-core GPU. Because of that change, graphics performance is slightly lower on the iPhone 17e.
Early Metal benchmark results show scores between 31,000 and 31,500 for the iPhone 17e. In comparison, the iPhone 17 reaches roughly 37,000 in the same graphics test.
Still, most users will likely not notice a big difference in daily use. Regular apps and many mobile games should run smoothly on both models.
This configuration is not entirely new. The previous generation Apple iPhone 16e also featured a 4-core GPU alongside the Apple A18 chip.
The benchmark data also highlights how Apple’s iPhones compare in multi-core CPU performance.
| iPhone Model | Multi-Core CPU Score |
|---|---|
| iPhone 17 Pro (A19 Pro) | 9,805 |
| iPhone 17 (A19) | 9,249 |
| iPhone 17e (A19) | 9,241 |
| iPhone 16 Pro (A18 Pro) | 8,625 |
| iPhone 16e (A18) | 7,977 |
| iPhone 15 Pro (A17 Pro) | 7,199 |
Beyond performance, the iPhone 17e keeps the same overall design as the iPhone 16e. However, Apple has introduced several upgrades this year.
The device now supports MagSafe for magnetic wireless charging and accessories. It also includes Apple’s second-generation C1X modem, which enables faster 5G connectivity. In addition, the base storage has doubled to 256GB.
In the United States, the iPhone 17e starts at $599, the same price Apple used for the iPhone 16e. Pre-orders for the iPhone 17e opened on March 4, while the device will officially launch on March 11.
