The Sindh government will distribute free pink electric scooters to selected women on March 8, marking the occasion of International Women’s Day.
Senior Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon said the initiative aims to improve women’s access to safe and reliable transportation across the province.
According to the minister, women selected under the program will receive electric scooters along with road safety and riding training to ensure they can use the vehicles safely and confidently. The scheme is designed to promote independent mobility for women and address transportation challenges many face in their daily lives.
Memon added that the program is also part of the provincial government’s broader effort to promote environmentally friendly transport while supporting women’s empowerment.
Officials say the government plans to introduce similar initiatives in the future to further support women and expand sustainable transportation solutions in the province.
