Apple is expanding Siri in a new way. The company is preparing a dedicated marketplace for AI integrations inside the App Store. This feature will arrive with iOS 27 and will focus on third-party chatbot support.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the new “Extensions” feature will get its own section within the App Store. This section will act as a hub where users can discover and install AI tools that work with Siri. As a result, Apple is moving toward a more open AI ecosystem.
Users will be able to browse available options and add third-party chatbots directly to Siri. Once added, these chatbots can run inside the assistant. However, there is a limitation. Only apps that support these extensions will work with this system. This means developers must update their apps to join the platform.
Meanwhile, Apple is also planning a major Siri upgrade. The company will likely reveal this overhaul during WWDC 2026 on June 8. The update has been in development for a long time, and expectations are high. Apple aims to make Siri more capable and useful with AI features.
The final version of iOS 27 should arrive in September. It is expected to launch alongside the new iPhone 18 Pro models and the iPhone Fold.
Last week, a separate report first revealed Apple’s plan. It said Siri would connect with third-party AI chatbots through the new Extensions feature in iOS 27. Now, these latest details confirm how Apple plans to build and manage this system.
