Furthermore, MG might introduce another IM-branded vehicle alongside this model. Currently, the company has not confirmed official pricing or exact launch dates.

What is the IM Brand?
IM stands for “Intelligence in Motion”. It operates as a premium Chinese luxury electric vehicle brand with a strong focus on technology. SAIC Motor, Alibaba, and Zhangjiang Hi-Tech run this brand together as a joint venture. SAIC holds the majority stake and also owns MG. Consequently, international markets sell IM models under the MG umbrella. Pakistan will likely follow this exact strategy.
MG IM6: A High-Performance Crossover SUV
The IM6 is a luxury mid-size all-electric crossover SUV. Globally, it competes directly with the Tesla Model Y and the BYD Sealion 7. However, the IM6 is the most powerful of the three and boasts the quickest acceleration.
Internationally, buyers can choose from three powertrain options. The top-spec variant features a dual-motor All-Wheel Drive (AWD) setup. This powerful system generates 741 horsepower and 802 Nm of torque. Therefore, the vehicle rockets from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 3.48 seconds.
Additionally, the SUV houses a large 100 kWh battery pack. This capacity delivers an estimated range of up to 600 km (NEDC), or roughly 505 km on the WLTP cycle. Furthermore, the IM6 supports ultra-fast 396 kW DC charging. Owners can charge the battery from 10% to 80% in approximately 17 minutes.
Growing EV Competition in Pakistan
Several global markets already sell the IM6. China launched the vehicle in October 2023. Thailand followed in March 2025, Australia in June 2025, and the UK in September 2025. Most recently, the UAE welcomed the SUV in February 2026.
Now, Pakistan expects to join this list soon. If MG proceeds with a local launch, the IM6 will enter an increasingly competitive EV crossover segment. It will face tough competition from luxury tech-focused rivals like the Deepal S07, BYD Sealion 7, and XPENG G6. Market response will ultimately depend heavily on how closely MG prices the IM6 against these alternatives.
