Images of the upcoming Toyota Corolla Altis facelift surfaced in Pakistan on October 4, confirming that Indus Motor Company (IMC) plans to update its best-selling sedan. The spotted vehicle carried Altis and 1.8 X badging, along with redesigned headlights, a slimmer upper grille, a revised front bumper, and updated tail lamps with a refreshed rear bumper.
However, the changes appear to stop at the surface. The facelift retains the same 1.6-liter (120 hp) and 1.8-liter (138 hp) naturally aspirated petrol engines. Toyota has not confirmed any new interior features or advanced driver-assistance systems for the Pakistan model. IMC has also not announced an official launch date or pricing.
The cosmetic-only approach stands in sharp contrast to what Toyota offers globally. The all-new 2026 Corolla unveiled for international markets features a fully digital 8.8-inch instrument cluster, a 12.9-inch infotainment screen, and Toyota’s complete Safety Sense suite as standard across all variants. Global buyers also get hybrid powertrain options. Pakistan’s version will likely carry none of these upgrades.
Early reactions have not been warm. Consumers have long criticized local automakers for offering cosmetic refreshes at higher prices while withholding the technology and safety features available in other markets for the same models.
Some of the comments online that piqued our interests include:
The Corolla currently starts at Rs 6.2 million for the Altis X Manual 1.6 and goes up to Rs 7.7 million for the Altis Grande X 1.8 with black interior. Industry observers expect the facelift to bring a price increase on top of these figures.
PakWheels reported that dealership chatter had pointed toward a Corolla update and possible new bookings for weeks before the vehicle was spotted.

The timing also comes as IMC faces growing competition from Hyundai and Changan, both of which now offer comparable technology and safety features at similar price points in the Pakistani market.
Toyota has not responded to requests for comment on the facelift’s launch timeline or feature list.
