Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah announced a Rs2,000 monthly fuel subsidy for motorcycle owners, following federal directives introduced after petrol and diesel price increases.
CM confirmed every registered motorcycle owner in Sindh will receive direct cash transfers, with payments scheduled between April 15 and April 20 through verified accounts.
As per the official figures, Sindh has 6.6 million registered motorcycles, and the Excise Department has developed a mobile application requiring CNIC details for subsidy verification and disbursement.
The provincial government abolished motorcycle transfer fees, urging owners to complete documentation within 15 days to remain eligible for the subsidy programme.
Officials said the subsidy equals Rs100 relief on 20 litres of petrol monthly, aligning with measures announced earlier by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik.
Petrol prices were raised to Rs458.41 per litre and high-speed diesel to Rs520.35 per litre, marking increases of Rs137.24 and Rs184.49 respectively compared with March rates.
The federal government confirmed these adjustments represent historic highs, with both petrol and diesel reaching unprecedented levels across the pricing structure in country.
Sindh authorities also announced plans to extend similar relief to bus and truck owners, with relevant data being shared with the federal government for implementation.
