The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced plans to launch a new internship program for BS students, aimed at bridging the gap between academic learning and practical experience while providing financial support.
The proposal was discussed during a briefing to Provincial Minister for Education Meena Khan Afridi regarding the Ehsaas Internship Program, which is designed to enhance students’ employability and professional skills.
Under the proposed plan, the internship will span two to six months, during which selected students will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 25,000. The initiative is expected to benefit students by offering hands-on experience in relevant fields alongside their academic studies.
Eligibility criteria require applicants to have a minimum CGPA of 3.0, and the program will be open to students enrolled in universities and degree colleges across the province.
To ensure smooth implementation, the government plans to establish coordination offices within educational institutions, which will facilitate the application process and oversee the execution of the program.
Officials said the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to empowering youth, improving job readiness, and strengthening the link between education and the job market in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
