The Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) has placed more than 1,300 fresh engineering graduates in leading public and private sector organizations under the second batch of its Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) Placement Program.
According to official details, a total of 1,700 candidates were selected through a transparent digital balloting processconducted in March. The remaining selected graduates will be placed in subsequent phases after completing their reporting formalities.
The program aims to facilitate a smooth transition for young engineers from academic studies to professional careers by providing industry-relevant training and hands-on experience.
Placements have been made across more than 60 organizations, covering a wide range of sectors. These include federal and provincial departments, as well as institutions from Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, ensuring nationwide participation.
In a move to promote inclusivity, 300 positions were reserved for graduates from Balochistan. Officials confirmed that all reserved seats have been successfully filled.
Selected candidates have already joined their respective organizations and begun orientation and onboarding processes, gaining exposure to real-world engineering environments.
The GET program offers six months of structured training, including five months of field experience and one month dedicated to skill development. Participants receive a monthly stipend of PKR 50,000 and are awarded a QR-verified completion certificate upon successful completion.
PEC Chairman Engr. Waseem Nazir said the initiative reflects the council’s commitment to strengthening Pakistan’s engineering workforce through merit-based and transparent mechanisms.
He added that the program is designed to equip graduates with both technical expertise and professional skills, contributing to long-term growth in the engineering sector.
The initiative is fully funded by PEC and is part of broader efforts to enhance employability and support national development goals.
