Ubisoft finally unveiled Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced on April 23. This highly anticipated remake brings the beloved pirate adventure to current-generation consoles. Led by Ubisoft Singapore, the title thrusts Edward Kenway back into the spotlight. Furthermore, the developers rebuilt the game from the ground up to meet modern gaming standards while preserving the original core experience.
The development team utilized the latest Anvil Engine improvements for this massive project. Consequently, players will experience a fully seamless open world. The original release forced loading screens between different sections of the Caribbean. Now, the developers have completely eliminated those barriers. Additionally, the remake introduces a dynamic weather system, ray-traced global illumination, and vastly improved character textures. Because the environment lacks old-school invisible walls, massive jungles and previously inaccessible areas might finally open up for exploration.
Recent marketing materials shared by an Assassin’s Creed fan account, Zephryss, showcased the complete world map. Fortunately, the manuscript-style layout preserves the original 50 islands. Players will easily recognize major cities like Havana, Nassau, and Kingston. However, keen-eyed fans immediately spotted some structural upgrades. The base map now permanently integrates Black Island, Mystery Island, and Sacrifice Island. Previously, Ubisoft locked these three locations behind the “Illustrious Pirates Pack” DLC. Therefore, players expect related items, like the Captain Morgan outfit, to appear in the base game.

Besides visual upgrades in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, Ubisoft significantly reworked the combat and stealth mechanics. Moreover, the developers added brand-new missions to Edward Kenway’s main storyline. These fresh quests will likely take full advantage of the newly expanded, seamless environments. Interestingly, the studio explicitly excluded the ‘Freedom Cry’ DLC from this remake. Still, the massive map expansion gives fans plenty of hope. Many players heavily speculate that they might finally visit Florida in this updated territory.
