Syed Murad Ali Shah has directed authorities to accelerate construction work on the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Red Line, emphasizing quality, transparency, and timely completion of the project.
During a visit to key infrastructure sites in Karachi, the chief minister reviewed progress along the BRT Red Line corridor from Peoples Chowrangi to Safoora Chowrangi. He was accompanied by provincial ministers, the mayor of Karachi, and senior officials.
Officials briefed the chief minister that repair and rehabilitation work is underway on mixed-traffic lanes along University Road, including patchwork and road widening efforts.
To minimize disruption for commuters, asphalt overlay work is being carried out during nighttime hours.
Murad Ali Shah expressed concern over recurring water accumulation near Nipa and directed departments to develop a permanent drainage solution to prevent future issues.
The chief minister instructed departments to ensure visible progress and directed that construction activities continue in multiple shifts to meet deadlines and provide relief to the public.
He also inspected the under-construction Azeempura flyover at Shah Faisal Colony and ordered its completion within 90 days.
Officials say the push for faster execution reflects the government’s focus on improving Karachi’s transport infrastructure and easing traffic congestion across the city.
