Apple will unveil iOS 27 on June 8, and a fresh report from Mark Gurman at Bloomberg has revealed several new details about the upcoming update. One of the biggest changes may arrive in the Camera app.
According to the report, Apple plans to make the app more customizable. Users will reportedly choose which controls appear on screen and where they sit inside the interface. These controls include flash, exposure, timer, night mode, live photos, and resolution settings.
Apple is also expected to introduce a new Siri mode inside the Camera app. Alongside standard photo and video modes, users may access Siri’s Visual Intelligence features directly from the camera. This will help identify objects through the camera lens or translate text in real time.
The update may also bring major visual improvements across the system. Gurman says iOS 27 will feature noticeable design changes for Siri, system search, and apps like Safari, Image Playground, and Weather. Apple will reportedly add new animations and redesigned tab bars as well.
These interface updates are said to improve Apple’s Liquid Glass design style and make navigation feel smoother across the system.
Siri could receive its biggest overhaul in years with iOS 27. The report claims Apple will turn Siri into a more advanced chatbot powered by Google Gemini models. Siri will also appear inside the Dynamic Island interface for easier access.
In addition, users may switch between Apple’s own AI models and third-party tools like OpenAI ChatGPT. Apple is also preparing a standalone Siri app for the first time.
Meanwhile, Safari may get a redesigned start page. The new layout will reportedly include four tabs at the top for favorites, bookmarks, reading lists, and browsing history.
Apple is also redesigning the Weather app. A new Conditions panel will appear on the main city page to provide faster weather details. Image Playground is also expected to receive a complete redesign as Apple continues expanding its AI-focused features in iOS 27.
