Samsung could once again use a MediaTek chip in its next premium tablet lineup. New information found inside Samsung’s AI Core app points to the use of MediaTek’s upcoming Dimensity 9500 processor. The code reportedly mentions the Dimensity 9500 through its model number. However, it does not reveal the exact Samsung device linked to the chipset.
Still, the upcoming Galaxy Tab S12 series appears to be the strongest possibility. Samsung already used the Dimensity 9400+ in the Galaxy Tab S11 lineup. Because of that, moving to the newer Dimensity 9500 would be a natural step for the company’s next flagship tablets.
Samsung introduced the Galaxy Tab S11 series in early September. Therefore, the Galaxy Tab S12 models could arrive around the same time this year. Earlier reports from February also suggested that Samsung is developing the Galaxy Tab S12+ and Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra. The company is expected to continue switching between the standard and Plus variants every year.
At this stage, Samsung has not officially confirmed any details about the Galaxy Tab S12 lineup. However, more leaks and reports are likely to surface in the coming months.
