Ubisoft officially revealed Year 11 Season 2 of Rainbow Six Siege. The new update, Operation System Override, launches on June 2. Developers announced the details during a major event in Salt Lake City, Utah. Despite a severe hacking incident in early 2026, the game continues its strong momentum. Consequently, fans can expect significant content drops following the successful Operation Silent Hunt, which recently introduced Metal Gear’s ‘Solid Snake’.
The Return of Calypso Casino & Dokkaebi Remaster
Ubisoft is bringing back a fan-favorite map. The new map for Season 2 is Calypso Casino. Veterans of the franchise will immediately recognize this iconic location from Rainbow Six Vegas and its multiplayer sequel. Furthermore, developers modernized three existing maps. Emerald Plains, Kanal, and Outback will receive crucial improvements to their lighting and overall visuals.

The attacking operator, Dokkaebi, receives a massive rework. Ubisoft replaced her classic “Logic Bomb” with the deadly “Jegeo Payload”. She now targets enemy players directly to upload malware. If the defender fails to disable the phone in time, it detonates. This explosion inflicts 40 HP of damage. Additionally, it creates a dangerous fire zone that harms the defender and nearby allies.

Players who already own Dokkaebi will receive 600 R6C via the new Battle Pass. Moreover, the update introduces a brand-new primary weapon. Dokkaebi, Sens, and Rauora can now equip the XK23 Assault Rifle.
Rainbow Six Siege Ranked 3.0 & Operator Balancing
Operation System Override revamps the competitive experience. Ranked Overhaul 3.0 brings back Placement Matches and completely removes “Hidden MMR”. The system now operates strictly on a transparent “Your Skill = Your Rank” metric.
Additionally, Ubisoft deployed major balancing adjustments across the roster. Gridlock’s Track Stingers received direct enhancements. Similarly, Pulse, Mozzie, and Nomad will benefit from increased gadget ranges.
Other notable system updates dropping this season include:
- A new Battle Pass featuring Black Ice Packs.
- Mouse & Keyboard (M&K) Support on Consoles (arriving mid-season).
- Rotating trial Operators and returning in-game events.
- R6 Shieldguard regular updates and an Esports Tab update.
Looking ahead, Creative Director Alexander Karpazis and Game Director Joshua Mills teased future possibilities. During the game’s 10th anniversary, they acknowledged the franchise’s single-player roots. Keeping operators locked strictly in Siege represents a missed opportunity. Therefore, players might see expanded stories beyond standard multiplayer matches soon.
