Ufone users are waking up to a major network upgrade. Recent customer reports confirm that the mobile operator has officially activated 4G+, LTE-Advanced, and Carrier Aggregation. This rollout currently shows strong results in Karachi. Furthermore, this development directly follows the ongoing integration of Ufone and Telenor networks across the region.
Repurposing 3G for 4G+ Speeds
Last month, on May 11, Ufone executed its first major network adjustment. The telecom operator shut down its older 3G services. Consequently, Ufone repurposed that freed bandwidth to strengthen its 4G infrastructure. Fast forward to early June, and users are now experiencing the second phase of this upgrade. Devices are successfully catching stable 4G+ signals.
However, users lacking VoLTE support on their smartphones face a minor technical quirk. During active phone calls, their data connection drops back to 2G. Simultaneously, the network identifier temporarily switches to “41011|Ufone” on their screens. The network name immediately returns to Ufone once the call ends.
The Ufone-Telenor merger is already showing physical improvements on the ground. Customers in Karachi report that the telecom giant is actively merging signals with Telenor cell sites. Therefore, users who previously faced spotty connections now receive stable 4G+ speeds. This integration actively bridges coverage gaps. While users in other cities currently wait for similar upgrades, the Karachi rollout proves the merger is enhancing the overall network infrastructure.

Ufone Network Stability During Outages
Customer feedback highlights a distinct advantage for Ufone’s current strategy. Competitors often deliver faster peak internet speeds. However, networks like Jazz and Zong frequently suffer from heavy network congestion during rush hours. In contrast, Ufone maintains a highly consistent connection.
Users note that competing networks occasionally go completely dark during travel or extended power outages, particularly in regions like KP. Meanwhile, Ufone reliably powers through these blackouts. Ultimately, subscribers are prioritizing this dependable network stability and uninterrupted coverage over inconsistent high-speed bursts.
