A government girls’ school in Hyderabad has been named among the top 10 finalists worldwide in the community collaboration category of the World’s Best School Prizes 2026, organised by international education body T4 Education.
Govt Girls Lower Secondary School Tando Mir Ghulam Hussain is one of only two Pakistani schools alongside a private school from Punjab to have been shortlisted from thousands of applicants across the globe.
Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah announced the achievement in a statement, saying the school secured its place through partnerships with the local community, awareness campaigns, STEAM-based learning activities, and a commitment to the holistic development of students.
The World’s Best School Prizes are considered among the most prestigious awards in global education. T4 Education evaluates schools across five categories: community collaboration, environmental action, innovation, overcoming adversity, and supporting healthy lives.
This year, an international panel of experts selected 10 finalists in each category following an extensive review of submissions from public and private schools worldwide.
Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and the education minister congratulated the administration, principal, teachers, students, parents, and local community. They said the achievement was not only a success for the school but a source of pride for the education system of Sindh.
