The College Education Department has issued its first-ever academic and co-curricular calendar for the 2026-2027 session, outlining a year-long schedule of examinations, admissions, and extracurricular activities for colleges.
According to reports, the calendar covers examinations, admissions, literary and cultural programs, sports competitions, seminars, workshops, career guidance sessions, awareness campaigns, and national, religious and international day observances throughout the academic year.
Alongside academic activities, special focus will be placed on developing the mental, creative, moral, social and leadership capabilities of students.
The calendar aims to foster critical thinking, communication skills, teamwork, patriotism, civic responsibility, ethical values, environmental awareness and leadership qualities among students.
Under the new schedule, mid-term examinations will be held in mid-October, covering all coursework taught up to that point. College teaching staff and students will take part in the mid-term examinations, with college administrations, principals and faculty members responsible for conducting them.
Admissions to BS programs will open in the last week of November, aimed at providing students with opportunities to pursue higher education programs. Intermediate preliminary examinations will follow in March 2027.
April 2027 will see continued academic and co-curricular activities focused on preparing students for upcoming stages of their education. Final board examinations will be held in May, with students appearing according to their respective boards examination schedules, while practical examinations will be conducted in June and July.
The academic and co-curricular calendar is intended to integrate classroom learning with co-curricular and extracurricular activities, preparing students for practical life, higher education and professional careers alongside their academic studies.
