The Education Department in Sindh has uncovered the fake recruitment of six secondary school teachers, prompting an official inquiry and the suspension of their salaries.
District Education Officer (DEO) Mirpurkhas, Mir Fazal Talpur said a letter had been issued to the District Accounts Officer directing that salaries of the six teachers be withheld with immediate effect.
According to the DEO, a separate letter was also sent to the IT Data Center instructing officials to cancel the biometric records of the fake teachers. A departmental inquiry has since been launched against the Director Education, the DEO, and two taluka officers in connection with the case.
Talpur said he had never met or seen any of the fake teachers in person. He added that forged signatures and stamps of several officers, including his own, were used to process the fraudulent appointments.
The DEO said action was taken without delay after taluka officers raised the issue, resulting in an immediate halt to the salaries of the fake teachers. He confirmed that he had already submitted his written response to the inquiry committee investigating the matter.
