Pakistan’s cement industry recorded a 7.21 percent increase in total dispatches during fiscal year 2025-26 (FY26), driven by robust domestic demand despite a slight decline in exports, according to data released by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA).
Total cement dispatches reached 50.52 million tons in FY26, compared with 47.12 million tons in the previous fiscal year.
Domestic cement sales rose 9.5 percent to 41.51 million tons, up from 37.91 million tons a year earlier. However, export dispatches declined 2.19 percent to 9.01 million tons, compared with 9.21 million tons in FY25.
The industry also closed the fiscal year on a positive note, with total cement dispatches in June 2026 increasing 18.38 percent year-on-year to 4.33 million tons.
Local cement sales during the month surged 26.78 percent to 3.54 million tons, while export dispatches fell 8.73 percent to 789,840 tons.
North-based cement manufacturers recorded total dispatches of 35.50 million tons during FY26, reflecting a 7.53 percent annual increase. Domestic sales from northern mills climbed 10.83 percent, although exports from the region declined sharply by 53.85 percent.
Meanwhile, south-based manufacturers posted total dispatches of 15.02 million tons, up 6.48 percent from the previous fiscal year. Domestic sales increased 3.18 percent, while exports from southern mills rose 9.36 percent to 8.23 million tons.
The APCMA expressed optimism about the sector’s outlook, expecting stronger domestic construction activity and stable export demand to support cement sales in the coming months.
The association also said easing geopolitical tensions could help reduce energy and fuel costs, improving operating conditions for cement manufacturers.
