The Punjab government has announced a 10 percent discount on Motor Vehicle Token Tax payments, offering vehicle owners a concession until August 31, 2026, to encourage timely tax payments and improve compliance.
Under the initiative, motorists who pay their token tax before the deadline will be eligible for the discount while also avoiding late payment surcharges and penalties.
The government has urged all vehicle owners across Punjab to take advantage of the limited-time incentive and fulfill their tax obligations within the stipulated period.
Background: The discount is part of the Punjab government’s broader digital governance strategy, which promotes online public services and encourages citizens to use digital payment platforms for faster, more transparent, and hassle-free transactions.
Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) Chairman Faisal Yousaf said the e-Pay Punjab platform provides a secure, transparent, and convenient system for making government payments. He added that the initiative aligns with the provincial government’s vision of improving service delivery through digital transformation.
Citizens can pay their Motor Vehicle Token Tax through the e-Pay Punjab platform before August 31, 2026, to avail themselves of the 10 percent discount.
