Pak Telecom Mobile Limited (PTML) just officially announced its new Executive Management team. This move marks a major milestone for the newly amalgamated company. Recently, the Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) ordered separate management from the PTCL Group. Furthermore, the Islamabad High Court approved the Scheme of Arrangement. Consequently, this amalgamation brings together the strengths of both organizations. Now, PTML stands as a unified telecommunications company ready to accelerate network leadership and digital innovation across Pakistan.
Who is the New CEO of PTML?
Hatem Bamatraf now leads the charge. He has officially stepped down from his role as President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PTCL. Instead, he will continue exclusively as President and CEO of PTML. Bamatraf played a vital role during the recent transformation. Specifically, he oversaw the acquisition process and integration planning for Telenor Pakistan. Moving forward, he will leverage his deep expertise in multi-market operations to drive PTML’s integration and growth.
Driving Commercial & Technological Growth
To support this vision, PTML appointed a robust team of industry veterans. Atif Raza steps in as the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). Raza holds over two decades of telecom experience. Therefore, he will direct the end-to-end commercial strategy to accelerate revenue growth and strengthen market leadership.
Meanwhile, Awais Vohra takes charge as the Chief Technology and AI Officer (CTO). Previously, Vohra served as the Interim CEO of Telenor Pakistan. Now, he will lead PTML’s technology vision, execution, and AI strategy for the combined entity.
Additionally, the commercial division gains two key leaders. Khawaja Shehzad Ullah assumes the role of Chief Consumer Business Officer (CCBO). He boasts over three decades of consumer sales experience. Similarly, Bilal Javed Bhatti becomes the Chief Business Officer (CBO). Having previously led Telenor Pakistan’s Business Division, Bhatti will now drive PTML’s enterprise and business segment.
Managing Finance, People, & Governance
Financial stability remains a top priority. Mudasser Shafiq steps in as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Shafiq played a crucial role in the Telenor Pakistan integration. Thus, he will lead the finance function into its next chapter.
On the human resources front, Areej Khan becomes the Chief People Officer (CPO). She will build a high-performing organization focused on talent and culture. Furthermore, Shan ul Haq joins as the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer (CCAO). He will leverage his strong stakeholder relationships to advance external engagement and public policy.
Finally, PTML solidifies its regulatory and compliance framework. Haider Latif Sandhu takes the position of Senior Vice President, Governance, Legal & Compliance, and Company Secretary. Alongside him, Abdullah Hameed assumes the role of Head of Internal Audit. Hameed brings over 25 years of enterprise risk management experience from within the PTCL Group.
Ultimately, this new leadership team positions PTML to deliver sustainable value to customers nationwide.
