Balochistan has launched an electronic domicile and local certificate system, marking the first digital rollout of these services in the province as part of a wider push to modernise public administration.
A formal notification for the launch of the e-domicile and e-local certificate system was issued on the instructions of Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, said Assistant to the Chief Minister for Political and Media Affairs Shahid Rind.
The aim, he said, is to make the entire process of issuing domicile and local certificates fully digital.
Under the new system, applicants will be able to submit requests from anywhere in Pakistan through NADRA centres, offices of deputy commissioners and the Pak ID platform, removing the need to visit specific local offices in person.
Rind said the digital process would reduce delays, cut down on unnecessary office visits and limit the role of middlemen in obtaining certificates. He added that a secure digital verification process would also help curb the issuance of fake domicile and local certificates.
The system has been designed to protect the accuracy of citizen data while giving government institutions a reliable verification mechanism, Rind said.
He described the move as part of a broader provincial effort to modernise public service delivery through technology, adding that the Balochistan government was taking practical steps toward a transparent, digital service model.
Officials said the new system is expected to improve service delivery, increase transparency and make official documents more accessible to residents across the province.
