Rockstar Games is finally shifting its Grand Theft Auto (GTA) VI marketing machine into high gear. Fans have patiently waited for a new trailer. Now, the studio has officially announced a special GTA marketing event titled “Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look.” Surprisingly, Rockstar has teamed up directly with Netflix for this upcoming broadcast.

Currently, Rockstar has not specified the exact contents of the broadcast. However, fans heavily speculate that the video will feature actual gameplay or the highly anticipated Trailer 3, rather than a simple behind-the-scenes documentary.
GTA VI ‘Extended Look’ & Take-Two Earnings Call
Meanwhile, fans have their eyes glued to another major event happening today. Take-Two Interactive hosts its latest financial earnings report today, Friday, August 7. Typically, the publisher waits for the financial market to close before holding these calls. However, they scheduled today’s call for the morning when the market opens. This unusual time shift has caught the industry’s attention. Consequently, many analysts and fans expect the company to share significant news regarding Grand Theft Auto during the call.
Overall anticipation for the game has never been higher. Rockstar successfully opened the official pre-order phase back on June 25. Currently, Take-Two remains highly confident in the scheduled November 19 launch date. Furthermore, this massive release date has fundamentally shifted the entire gaming industry. Most major publishers have deliberately steered clear of November. As a result, September and October are now incredibly crowded with competing game releases.
Despite Take-Two’s public confidence, some skeptics still expect a sudden delay. Former Rockstar Games developer Mike York recently warned fans about the studio’s perfectionism. He explained that Rockstar leadership will not hesitate to push the game back if the final product does not meet their strict standards. Moreover, York indicated that a delay could potentially push the release date all the way to May 2027. For now, development appears to remain on pace as fans gear up for the August 27 showcase.
