Oppo may be working on an unusual new smartphone with a wide-screen, non-folding display. The phone could launch as the Oppo Reno X, according to a new leak. The source claims the device will feature a 200MP primary rear camera. The phone is also expected to include a periscope telephoto camera for improved zoom performance.
The source did not reveal more camera details. However, the phone could reportedly launch alongside Oppo’s Find X10 series, giving it a flagship-level position in the lineup. Earlier reports from the same source shared some details about the display. The phone could use an LTPO panel measuring between 6.3 and 6.4 inches, with a 16:10 aspect ratio.
The design is also said to resemble the Huawei Pura X. However, Oppo’s device would use a traditional, non-folding form factor instead of a foldable screen. The rumored Reno X could feature a Dimensity 9-series chipset. It may also pack a large 7,000mAh battery, which would give the phone a strong focus on battery life.
The design choice is particularly interesting because Huawei may also be working on a non-folding version of the Pura X. A separate rumor earlier this year pointed to a similar device from Huawei.
Oppo has not confirmed the Reno X or any of its rumored specifications. For now, the 200MP camera, periscope lens, wide-screen display, and 7,000mAh battery remain part of the leak.
