Vivo has revealed new display details for its upcoming X500 Pro Max, adding another key feature to its flagship lineup. The company confirmed that the phone will use a new BOE Q11 panel. The Vivo X500 Pro Max will feature a 6.85-inch AMOLED display with a 2K resolution. According to Vivo, it will be the first smartphone to use BOE’s Q11 panel.
The new display material is designed to improve both motion clarity and color consistency. Vivo claims it can reduce motion blur during scrolling by 93% and improve color uniformity by 43%. The company also says the panel delivers 22% better brightness uniformity. Despite the higher performance, the display is reportedly 21% more power efficient than an earlier 1.5K-resolution panel.
Vivo is also adding a new multispectral sensor beneath the display. The sensor can detect different color temperatures and light spectra to improve automatic brightness control. With 0.3-lux screen dimming, the sensor should help the phone make smoother brightness changes in different lighting conditions. This could also improve the viewing experience in very dark environments.
The X500 Pro Max is expected to join the X500 and X500 Pro when vivo unveils the series next month. The company has already shared camera and chipset details for the X500 Pro models, giving us a clearer look at the upcoming lineup.
