Xiaomi Poco has officially launched the F9 Pro and F9 Ultra after unveiling both phones on September 1. The new F9 series targets the flagship smartphone market with high-end displays and powerful hardware. The Poco F9 Pro is based on the Redmi K100 Pro, while the F9 Ultra follows the Redmi K100 Pro Max. Both phones share most of their core specifications with their Redmi counterparts.
However, battery capacity is one of the key differences between the Poco and Redmi models. The F9 Pro comes with a 6,330 mAh battery, while the F9 Ultra packs an 8,050 mAh cell. Poco has also positioned the two phones at different price points. The F9 Pro starts at €799, while the F9 Ultra carries a €999 price tag.
The F9 Pro features a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a 1156×2510 resolution. It also supports a 185Hz refresh rate and reaches up to 4,500 nits of peak brightness. The phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V Series chipset. It comes with 12GB or 16GB of RAM and offers 256GB or 512GB of storage.
For photography, the F9 Pro has a 200MP main camera with OIS. It also includes a 50MP telephoto camera with OIS and an 8MP ultrawide sensor. A 32MP camera handles selfies.
Meanwhile, the Poco F9 Ultra comes with a larger 6.9-inch AMOLED display. The panel has a 1200×2608 resolution, a 185Hz refresh rate, and 4,500 nits of peak brightness. The F9 Ultra is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Buyers can choose between 12GB and 16GB of RAM. Storage options include 256GB and 512GB.
The camera setup also gets a major upgrade on the Ultra model. It features a 200MP main camera with OIS and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with OIS. The phone also has a 50MP ultrawide camera and a 32MP front-facing camera. This gives the F9 Ultra a more versatile camera setup than the F9 Pro.
With the F9 Pro and F9 Ultra, Poco is bringing flagship-level hardware to its F series. The larger batteries also give both phones a clear focus on long battery life. The F9 Ultra stands out with its bigger battery, larger display, and more advanced camera system. The F9 Pro, meanwhile, offers a slightly more affordable entry into the new flagship lineup.
