A new leak from China has revealed possible details about Apple’s upcoming A20 Pro chip. The processor is expected to power the iPhone 18 Pro series and the rumored iPhone Ultra.
According to the leaker, the information came from reverse-engineering solder diagrams linked to the upcoming chip. The analysis reportedly provides an early look at Apple’s possible processor design and internal architecture.
The A20 Pro will reportedly retain a 2+4 CPU configuration. However, Apple may upgrade the graphics hardware with a new 7-core GPU, offering a potential performance boost for demanding apps and games. The leak also points to improvements in the chip’s efficiency cores. These smaller CPU cores could feature 8MB of L2 cache, compared to 6MB on the current A19 Pro.
Meanwhile, the larger performance cores are expected to keep their existing 16MB of L2 cache. The amount of system cache remains unclear, and the leak does not provide details about that part of the chip. Apple has yet to confirm any specifications for the A20 Pro. However, the company is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Ultra on September 9.
