Samsung may limit its Privacy Display technology to just two Galaxy S27 models, according to a new report from South Korea. Samsung introduced the Privacy Display with the Galaxy S26 Ultra earlier this year. The feature helps reduce screen visibility from side angles, adding more privacy when using the phone in public.
Earlier reports offered different details about Samsung’s plans for the Galaxy S27 lineup. A June report said the Galaxy S27 Pro would get the feature. Then, a July report claimed that every Galaxy S27 model except the S27 FE would support it.
The latest report now points to a smaller rollout. According to the source, only the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra will feature a privacy display. Samsung reportedly wants to use the feature to create a clearer gap between its premium and standard models. The move could also help drive demand for the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra.
The two high-end phones are also expected to use Color Filter-on-Encapsulation (COE) technology. This display technology could further improve the screens on Samsung’s premium Galaxy S27 models. Samsung’s plans may not stop with smartphones, either. The report says the company is discussing Privacy Display for future laptops.
If Samsung expands the feature across more products, Privacy Display could become a key part of its premium device strategy. For now, however, the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra appear to be the main targets.
