The Epic Games Store just officially unveiled its next batch of free titles. Next week, users can claim ‘Shogun Showdown’ and ‘Mindcop’. These two games mark the 67th and 68th freebies Epic has given away in 2026. Both titles will make their official day-one debut on the platform when the giveaway begins on September 17.
Meanwhile, yesterday’s promotion is currently live. ‘Luftrausers’ and ‘Astral Ascent’ are currently 100% free, replacing last week’s giveaway of ‘Alone With You’.
A Tactical Approach with Shogun Showdown
Next Thursday, Shogun Showdown arrives on the storefront. Solo indie developer Roboatino created this elegant, turn-based tactical roguelite. The game features deck-building elements. However, it plays much more like a compact tactics game than a traditional card battler.
Combat happens on a narrow horizontal field. Consequently, the player and enemies share a single line of positions. You use a turn to move, turn around, or prepare an attack. In response, enemies telegraph their upcoming actions clearly. Therefore, players must focus heavily on positioning and timing. This system lets you dodge attacks, force enemies into bad spots, and manipulate opponents into hitting each other.
Previously, Shogun Showdown launched in alpha in May 2022. It later hit Steam Early Access in June 2023, before securing a full 1.0 release in September 2024.
Beat the Clock in Mindcop
Additionally, Epic will offer Mindcop next week. Solo German developer Andre Gareis developed this non-linear detective adventure, while Dear Villagers handled the publishing. The game originally released in November 2024.
During the game, you investigate a murder in the isolated Merrilyn Crater Camp. You must choose exactly who to question and where to search. Furthermore, you decide which specific leads to follow as new evidence appears.
However, time acts as your main enemy. The case lasts exactly five in-game days. You only get seven hours per day for your investigation. Consequently, nearly every meaningful action burns through your limited time allowance. Normally, Mindcop costs $14.99. Previously, its best discount appeared in a Humble Bundle early in 2026.

Both Mindcop and Shogun Showdown carry a combined retail value of $29.98. Together, they will double the total retail value of the freebies Epic has offered in September 2026 so far.
