The Honor Magic9 Pro Max has appeared in the Geekbench online database ahead of its official launch. The listing identifies the phone with model number WKL-AN20. The benchmark shows the device running on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset. However, the listing does not reveal which specific variant of the chipset is being used.
The tested prototype came with 16GB of RAM and ran Android 17. This suggests the Magic9 Pro Max could launch with Android 17. Other memory configurations may also be offered. However, the Geekbench results should be viewed with caution. The tested phone is still a prototype and may not use final hardware or software. It also ran Geekbench 6.7.1 rather than the newer Geekbench 7.
Results from different Geekbench versions cannot be directly compared. Therefore, the scores from this listing do not provide a reliable performance comparison with devices tested on Geekbench 7. Honor has already scheduled the Magic9 series launch for September 28. The Magic9 Pro Max will sit at the top of the lineup and is expected to feature an ARRI co-branded camera system.
The phone is expected to use a 200MP main camera with a 1/1.28-inch type sensor. It will also reportedly feature a 200MP periscope telephoto camera with a 1/1.4-inch type sensor. An ultrawide camera is also expected to complete the rear camera setup. On the front, Honor will reportedly use its 3D face-unlocking technology.
Rumors also point to a square selfie sensor on the front of the device. The Magic9 Pro Max is expected to debut with Honor’s upcoming MagicOS 11 software. More details should emerge when Honor officially unveils the Magic9 series on September 28.
