Recently, new details emerged about a highly anticipated tactical game. ‘Beautiful Light’ is an upcoming objective-based extraction shooter. Consequently, it will launch into Steam Early Access this December. The extraction shooter genre seems heavily oversaturated right now. However, developer Deep Worlds remains confident. They created a highly replayable gameplay loop that easily separates this title from its current peers.
Beautiful Light is a Unique PvPvPvE Extraction Shooter Experience
Technically, Beautiful Light operates as a PvPvPvE game. It forcefully pits players against each other and the environment in an asymmetrical format. Normally, players enter the map in squads of one, two, or three. Next, they face off against rival teams and hostile, alien-like creatures known as anomalies.

Furthermore, the game introduces a massive twist. A group of players can actually spawn into the match as these alien creatures. As a result, they can actively hunt and sabotage the human squads. Very few extraction shooters currently offer this dynamic layer of gameplay.
Artifacts & Tactical Combat
The core objectives heavily revolve around mythical objects called artifacts. Each map holds a strictly limited number of these items. Therefore, the main goal involves securing and extracting these specific artifacts. Moreover, these objects carry unique properties that actively alter gameplay. Teams holding an artifact gain a distinct in-game advantage. Consequently, rival squads will relentlessly hunt the artifact carriers down.
Beautiful Light also heavily features mechanics from tactical first-person shooters. For instance, players can peek or lean around corners, similar to the aiming mechanics found in Rainbow Six Siege. Additionally, players must strategically use night vision devices, gas masks, and tactical lights to secure a combat advantage. Perhaps the most interesting gadget is the forearm PDA. This tool functions as a highly immersive HUD, heavily resembling the Pip-Boy devices from the Fallout series.
Development Timeline & Rivals
Deep Worlds originally addressed the release window right after the 2026 Gamescom show. The developers announced on Twitter that they are finalizing the exact release date. They are specifically factoring in the imminent launch of GTA 6. However, the official Steam page still strictly targets December 2026 for the Early Access launch.
The developers designed an engaging loop. Ultimately, they aim to keep players hooked without the exhausting cycle of constant looting and server wipes. Fans of the genre should also watch out for other upcoming titles. For example, NightRunner offers a new co-op PvE experience. Additionally, Anomalith attempts to twist the standard extraction formula. Still, players strictly looking forward to Beautiful Light must mark December 2026 on their calendars.
