Japanese PC maker Thirdwave has launched the Galleria NSC5L-IG-C4, a 14-inch creator laptop that weighs just 1 kg. The laptop starts at ¥149,980 (approximately $949 or Rs. 265,700) and went on sale through Dospara stores on October 15. However, the device remains exclusive to the Japanese market.
The Galleria NSC5L runs on an Intel Core Ultra 5 125U processor with 12 cores and 14 threads. NotebookCheck estimates the chip runs about 15% to 20% slower than Intel’s newer Core Ultra 5 325. It comes with up to 32 GB of LPDDR5 memory. Also, it supports up to 2 TB of NVMe storage through its M.2 slot. In addition, the laptop features Intel integrated graphics with four cores.

The display measures 14 inches with a 1920 x 1200 resolution in a 16:10 aspect ratio. Furthermore, the matte screen covers 100% of the sRGB color gamut for color-accurate creative work. Thirdwave also secured Wacom certification for the device, and the illustration model bundles CLIP STUDIO PAINT DEBUT.
For connectivity, the NSC5L offers two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C ports with DisplayPort 1.4 and 65W Power Delivery. Moreover, it includes one USB 3.2 Type-A port, an HDMI output, and a 3.5mm audio jack. Additionally, the laptop supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4 for wireless connections.
The device measures 314 x 219 x 22mm and features a fingerprint sensor with Windows Hello support. It also comes with quiet keys and a 19mm key pitch on a full-size keyboard layout. Meanwhile, battery life reaches up to 9.9 hours on idle under the JEITA 3.0 standard. During video playback, that number drops to 6.4 hours.
Thirdwave offers four configurations with either 16 GB or 32 GB of RAM. The illustration models also bundle creative software for digital artists. Consequently, the Galleria NSC5L targets creative professionals who need a lightweight and portable workstation. However, buyers outside Japan currently have no way to purchase the device through official channels.
