The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has ordered that no plot file can be sent for verification without the prior approval of the Director General Land and Estate, in a move to end delays that have long held up citizens’ cases.
Member Estate Muhammad Zaman Watto issued the instructions to officers, prohibiting them from initiating verification of the authenticity of a file unless there are solid grounds for doing so.
Under the new directives, no file may remain pending at any desk for more than three days. Officers have also been told to dispose of applications for No Objection Certificates (NOCs) within a fixed period.
The Member Estate has further directed that clear timelines be set for plot file verification and related matters.
The Director General Land and Estate has been instructed to determine the time limit for each stage of the process and issue a formal notification. The step is intended to remove the hardship caused to citizens by unnecessary verification.
