The All Pakistan Goods Transport Alliance has announced a five percent reduction in goods transport fares, following the decision of the federal government to lower petrol and diesel prices.
Alliance President Malik Shahzad Awan said the decision was taken in view of the decline in petroleum product prices over the past four to five days.
He thanked the prime minister and the federal petroleum minister for the relief. He also called for further cuts in petrol and diesel prices to provide additional relief to the transport sector.
The price of petrol has been reduced by Rs9.41 per litre, bringing it down to Rs352.59 per litre. The price of diesel has been cut by Rs5.56 per litre, bringing it down to Rs382.25 per litre.
