A Pakistani teenager killed by gun fire while taking a selfie

A 14-year old boy named Abdullah was killed after a pistol he was holding (pointed at him) accidentally went off while taking a selfie. The incident happened on Wednesday in Muzaffargarh, Punjab.

According to the police, Abdullah had gone to the Bhutta Pur Village with his relatives where he killed himself while taking a selfie. Abdullah was taking a selfie with his cousin and he had a loaded gun in one hand, the pistol, however, accidentally went off and killed him right on the spot. The police while sharing the details said that the victim’s family has refused to take any legal action.

Talking about an incident with a gun, a man named Sajid Khan, from Jhelum Pakistan was arrested by the police for uploading a TikTok video while holding an illegal pistol in his hand. We all know that TikTok is a global sensation and people use it to make fun music videos for entertainment purposes. But Sajid Khan took it too far and got arrested. The police booked the guy for illegal possession of a 30-bore pistol.

Holding guns while taking selfies or making videos is dangerous and can result in someone’s death if not the one holding it. Looking cool should not be more important than a person’s own life. The government must take action against every individual posting pictures on social media accounts with guns in their hands to discourage people from attempting to take similar pictures.

Selfie sensation is rising every day and in the last decade, the selfie craze has gone significantly up. This, as a result, has increased the death toll and have killed five times more people than shark attacks. With the rise in technology, the selfie cameras in the smartphones are becoming more advanced encouraging people to take more selfies.

The addition of selfie sticks which allow people to take long-range snaps themselves, prompt them to take even bigger risks for perfect selfie shots while putting them in danger. Taking pictures is a good way of saving memories for later, but people should make sure not to take unnecessary actions that can put their lives or lives of people around them in danger.
