A Samsung Galaxy S10 5G variant caught fire

Samsung launched its Galaxy S10 5G on April 5 last month, after the launch of simple Galaxy S10 variant, and it hasn’t been a month that the Korean tech giants flagship phone encountered the burning issue exactly like the Galaxy Note 7, as reported by BGR.

A South Korean Galaxy S10 5G owner last week posted pictures of his latest smartphone on the internet and reported that his phone caught fire and got burned beyond repair. He claimed that he had not done anything that would cause his smartphone to catch fire.

He said, “My phone was on the table when it started smelling burnt and smoke soon engulfed the phone, had to drop it to the ground when I touched it because it was so hot”. He further added, “everything inside [the phone] was burnt”.

The pictures shared by the S. Korean user shows severe burns on both front and rear side of the smartphone.

Samsung on this matter has said that the smartphone caught fire due to an external impact, not an internal issue, and therefore they denied to refund Lee for his exploded phone. The details regarding this issue are very unclear from both sides, as it is the very first Galaxy S10 5G smartphone that caught fire and it is hard to say whether the phone is actually problematic or not.

Samsung previously faced the same burning issue when the company launched its Galaxy Note 7 back in August 2016. At that time Samsung was forced to suspend sales of Note 7 after discovering a manufacturing defect in its batteries that was causing the tablet to generate excess heat and occasionally light on fire. Samsung then later had to recall and cease the production of the Galaxy Note 7 completely.
