All education boards in Punjab will overhaul the way examination papers are marked, moving from an overall assessment approach to a structured, question-by-question scoring system.
According to officials, under the new framework, rubric-based marking will be introduced, allowing students to secure full marks for each question by meeting clearly defined criteria.
The system will be implemented across all education boards in Punjab, including Lahore, with the rollout beginning with the second annual examinations.
To further refine question preparation and marking standards, boards will collect feedback from paper markers, who will submit reports on questions and marking criteria to their respective boards.
Officials said the initiative aims to improve transparency in the examination process, raise marking standards, and strengthen the credibility of results.
A key objective of the move is to make board results more widely recognized at the international level.
Going forward, every question will carry a defined marking structure, a measure officials say will bring consistency to the evaluation of answer scripts and improve the overall quality of marking.
