Google is pushing Android 17 closer to its final release, but it is not slowing down updates. Last week, the company released the fourth beta. Now, it has introduced the first Android 17 QPR1 Beta 1 for testing. The update is now live for Pixel 6 and newer devices.
As the stable Android 17 version is expected in September, Google is giving users an early look at small improvements. With Android 17 QPR1 Beta 1, users can test refinements before the official rollout. Google also says this build is stable enough for daily use, which makes it suitable for regular users.
The update supports devices starting from the Pixel 6 up to the latest Pixel 10a. Users who want to try it can join the Android Beta Program and install the QPR1 update. Although this release does not bring major new features, it still includes several bug fixes. Google has shared these fixes in its official changelog.
At the same time, users already running the Android 17 beta have another option. They can skip the QPR1 beta and return to the stable version. Importantly, they can do this without losing their data, which makes the switch easier.
