Apple TV appears to be moving toward an official launch in Pakistan. Users are reportedly now able to subscribe and activate the service using Pakistani Apple accounts. According to local media reports, the monthly subscription costs around Rs. 200. This development could eventually give local viewers easier access to Apple’s growing lineup of original shows and movies.
The subscription process reportedly works successfully for some users. Sources confirmed they subscribed to the service in Pakistan for Rs. 200 per month. Importantly, Apple then sent an official confirmation afterward. That confirmation showed the active subscription, its monthly price, and renewal details. Additionally, the Apple account settings displayed the subscription as active at Rs. 200. The plan also supports Family Sharing with up to five other people.
However, one major catch remains for now. Apple TV is still not directly accessible in Pakistan without a VPN. With a VPN enabled, users can open the service and browse the catalog. This includes viewing available movies and shows within the app. They even give you a month off in the beginning.
Yet the videos are currently not playing, even with an active subscription.
This suggests a phased rollout is quietly underway. Essentially, the subscription and payment system is already active in Pakistan. However, the actual video streaming has not yet been fully enabled. The Rs. 200 monthly plan therefore appears accessible ahead of full functionality.
Notably, reports indicate the rollout is not yet complete for everyone. Some users report that Pakistan does not appear in the country dropdown list. As a result, signing up remains impossible for a portion of users. This uneven access confirms it is not a full official launch just yet.
The pricing looks highly competitive for the Pakistani market. At roughly Rs. 200 monthly, Apple TV would undercut many rivals significantly. For comparison, gray-market resellers currently charge far more for the service. A cheaper official option could reshape local streaming habits over time.
Some reports also connect the move to Apple’s broader Pakistan expansion. Apple has been growing its official retail presence in the country. This reportedly includes a partnership with Air Link Communication for flagship retail experiences. There were also talks of Apple Pay and Apple Music coming to the country later this month as a bundle along with iOS 27 wider push. Consequently, an official streaming rollout would complement that wider push.
For Pakistani viewers, an affordable, legitimate Apple TV option would prove significant. It would remove the need for VPNs or region-specific workarounds entirely. Or just waiting for other reputable OTT platforms to finally come home.
However, Apple has not issued an official statement confirming a full launch date. Until streaming activates fully, the rollout remains a promising but incomplete development worth watching closely.
