Biometric Verification Now Mandatory For Stamp Papers In Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration has made biometric verification mandatory for issuing stamp papers, aiming to prevent fraud and ensure secure transactions.

According to a representative from the ICT administration, stamp papers that do not have biometric authentication will soon be invalid. To simplify verification and increase security, the new system includes a biometric slip with every document.

To follow the rule, stamp sellers need to complete the biometric verification process. Vendors who do not adhere to the rules will not be permitted to provide stamp papers. This is an essential step in eliminating counterfeit stamp papers from the system, according to Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon.

The decision is a direct result of the extensive fraud associated with fake stamp papers, which has previously put residents in a tough financial and legal position. There have been several reports of forgery, showing the need for closer supervision.

People can now confidently execute official transactions using their documents due to biometric verification, which ensures their authenticity and protects them from fraud. The issuing of stamp paper in Islamabad is anticipated to become more transparent and reliable as a result of this endeavor.
