The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has announced that all eligible women must collect their free mobile SIM cards by September 10, 2026, cautioning that failure to do so will result in the suspension of their quarterly cash transfer.
Programme officials said the directive applies to every woman currently receiving financial assistance under BISP, who must visit her nearest BISP office to obtain the SIM before the deadline.
The requirement is tied directly to the disbursement mechanism: officials confirmed that women who have not registered for a “Benazir SIM” will be unable to receive the upcoming quarterly installment under the Benazir Kafaalat programme, since payments are now routed through the verified SIM linked to each beneficiary’s account.
Authorities have urged beneficiaries not to delay, appealing to them to visit their nearest office as soon as possible to ensure the process is completed in time. Officials stressed that timely compliance is necessary to guarantee smooth and transparent delivery of funds, without interruption.
Describing the policy in simple terms, officials said the process follows a clear rule: beneficiaries must first secure and verify their SIM before they can access their payment.
Women who have already been issued a SIM were advised to confirm that it remains active and properly linked to their account, while those who have not yet collected one were told to do so immediately to avoid missing their next installment.
