Consequently, this blockbuster aims to thrill the massive global fan base. Furthermore, the studios designed the film to boldly expand the iconic video game franchise to entirely new audiences. Call of Duty remains one of the biggest video game franchises of all time. Therefore, the movie practically guarantees successful box office results upon release.
Peter Berg will direct the upcoming cinematic adaptation. Previously, he directed popular titles like ‘The Leftovers’, ‘Friday Night Lights’, ‘Hancock’, and ‘Battleship’. Moreover, Berg is co-writing the script alongside Taylor Sheridan. Sheridan recently gained massive fame for his work on ‘Yellowstone’. Together, they bring a wealth of creative experience to the project.
Currently, the movie lacks an official cast. However, the franchise heavily relies on high-octane action and spectacle. As a result, the film will surely attract some of today’s biggest action stars. This expectation grows even stronger given Berg and Sheridan’s impressive previous credits.
Meanwhile, fans know very little about the actual plot. The video game series boasts a long history of strong campaign narratives. Thus, adapting ‘Modern Warfare’ or ‘Black Ops’ makes perfect sense and would not be a bad idea. Alternatively, Berg and Sheridan might create an entirely new, character-driven drama unrelated to previous games. In fact, this approach would closely mirror Yellowstone and its many spin-off series. Regardless of the chosen path, the Call of Duty movie undoubtedly promises an epic blockbuster experience.
