In its effort to create more job opportunities and accelerate growth through Online Marketplaces in Pakistan, the CEO of Careem Pakistan, Junaid Iqbal, conducted a series of meetings with top tier stakeholders in government to discuss the potential for growth, creation of livelihood and the opportunity to leapfrog the country into the digital future.

Junaid Iqbal and senior management from his team who also attended the meetings stressed over the importance of recognition of OMPs in e-commerce framework which has a huge potential in Pakistan’s economy which is getting increasingly connected to the internet.

These platforms are not only creating millions of jobs in the country but also encouraging innovation. Moreover, they are also providing customers with access to a much wider range of services.

Careem earlier this year collaborated with TechKaro to enable women to develop their careers in the field of technology. By solving their needs of mobility and offering them mentoring and apprenticeship through a program for all their female high achievers, Careem is encouraging women in Pakistan to choose careers in the technology-related fields.
