Chinese and Indian state-linked hacking groups targeted Pakistani law enforcement agencies as part of a wider cyber espionage campaign, according to a new cybersecurity report.
The report claims that the threat actors launched sophisticated cyberattacks aimed at compromising sensitive information and gaining unauthorized access to networks used by Pakistan’s law enforcement institutions.
Cybersecurity researchers said the attacks were part of a broader campaign targeting government organizations across South Asia. The hackers allegedly relied on phishing emails, malware, and other advanced techniques to infiltrate systems and collect intelligence.
According to the report, the campaign reflects growing cyber threats facing public institutions, with government agencies increasingly becoming targets of state-backed cyber espionage operations.
While the report links the activity to hacking groups associated with China and India, it does not indicate that the attacks resulted in any confirmed data breach or long-term disruption of Pakistan’s law enforcement operations.
Pakistani authorities have not officially commented on the findings at the time of publication.
