GilgitApp

GilgitApp comprises a small but enthusiastic group of IT graduates from Gilgit City who has got into the ring with the big guys as they have tried to take on the biggest marketplaces of Pakistan including Daraz and OLX without any sort of investment from mainstream funders. GilgitApp is founded by Ejaz Karim who is the CEO and Co-founder of the app and his partner Ehsanullah Baig who is the Co-founder and the product manager of the app. Only two years into the business and they have over 210,000 users nationwide, these 10 skilled people have impressed the industry with the overall design functionality of the application.

GilgitApp is really easy to use and you can buy, sell or exchange your products through the app, including cars, bikes, mobile phones, laptops, home appliances, furniture, fashion products, garments, pets, and many others and yet more than 40,000 products have been listed on the app. Moreover, anywhere in Pakistan, you can find a property, including houses, offices, and plots for sale and rent.

Their team is working day-in and day-out to make the app better and better with the passing hour and provide the best services to the users. Co-founder Ehsanullah explains the team’s vision for the future as;

At GilgitApp, we strive hard to make a fantastic buying and selling experience for you. That’s why we have developed another amazing feature called Buyer Requests. Through the Buyer Request feature now, you can request your required product and get offers from different sellers.”

There are tons of exciting options that can assist in your quest for the best product for you, you can add price range or brand filters. The app also allows you to only browse the products that are really close to your location if you want to get rid of all the headaches of shipping. GilgitApp also has a very unique feature called “Buyer’s Request” that allows the users to post a required product and the sellers can directly contact the buyers. The team is looking to specifically add two new features in the app that can take the user experience and the buyer’s ease to the next level.

GilgitApp Shops”

GilgitApp shops will enable small and medium businesses to sell their products directly to buyers all over Pakistan creating a Daraz/E-retail sort of service that will be beneficial for both customers and sellers. Owners claim that they will provide a 24-hour delivery time and would make warehouses in many cities of Pakistan.

Featured Items

Featured Item is a sort of sponsored product that will allow the sellers to stay on the top of the searches and home pages. The team will implement some additional verifications on the product and the legitimacy of the seller before featuring it.

GilgitApp is more of a passion project rather than a business as the CEO Ejaz Karim has another very big tech firm called uConnect Technologies, which is supposedly the biggest tech firm in Gilgit-Baltistan. uConnect provides software solutions and enterprises for its numerous local and international clients. uConnect also offers a training program in which they teach digital skills to the youth of Gilgit-Baltistan under the uConnect Skills Development Program and they have trained over 5,000 youngsters in Gilgit-Baltistan.

As all the sufficient revenue to run the GilgitApp is generated from uConnect, no funding series have been launched by the app and all the money is invested by the owners themselves. Ehsanullah shares their passion and vision for the GilgitApp as;

At GilgitApp, we do everything that can help our users easily buy and sell the products. GilgitApp aims to provide the best online experiences to our users. Therefore, we update new features according to our users and market demand.”
